PERSONALITY•
Ren's greatest joy in life is to play pranks and bully others. He tends to act younger than his age, and is immature and lazy. Ren tends to use more vulgar language than a royal probably ought to. He punches people he hates and punches people he likes. Who knows what the difference is.

HISTORY•
Ren was born to the rich Zhou family as an only child. He was given material gifts in place of the presence of his mother and father, who were rarely at home. He was granted anything he asked for, and became somewhat spoiled. Ren amused himself by bothering and playing pranks on the servants or locals. He isn't particularly passionate about tea. However, every time he performs a big ceremony, his parents return home, and Ren secretly enjoys spending time with them.
He turned thirteen, and it was time for the summoning tea ceremony. Ren was excited: he'd seen some of the other essences royal families had summoned and they seemed to be fairly meek, small looking characters. He was looking forward to having his own personal essence to play with and tease. Instead, he summoned Xue Qin, and was horrified by how tall and manly he was. Ren still feels some resentment towards Xue Qin for not turning out like he imagined.
